European businesses could save up to 20 per cent of annual turnover by addressing ‘bigger data’
As a key consequence of technology-led change, business critical data which supports decision making across core areas such as finance, marketing, sales and operations, is hidden in archives. By digitising these documents, leaders will gain access to a more valuable and extensive information pool than ever before. This is the era of bigger data.
Data that is fragmented across filing cabinets, warehouses, basements and files held by employees, is proving costly. There is growing recognition from business leaders that there is significant value lying dormant in physical information assets - 76 per cent say they could have learnt from the previous recession and reduced the impact of the current one if they had better access to historical data.
