But is improving agility a genuine priority for SMB leaders? Will they actively invest in technology to capitalise on new trends and opportunities? Do SMB leaders have a clear technology vision and understand which technologies will provide them with the greatest benefits?
A new study conducted by Censuswide, sponsored by Ricoh Europe, examines the challenges and opportunities in establishing more agile and flexible businesses.
The survey was conducted in December 2017 and consisted of 1,608 SMB leaders from Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Slovakia, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, the UK and Ireland.
Many leaders have a clear technology vision and understand which solutions will provide them with the greatest benefits. But real business agility requires more than just technology alone. Only 33% of European business leaders claim to actively encourage an atmosphere that prioritises quick reactions to customer needs. To truly capitalise on change, an open culture and fluid processes are just as fundamental as the right technologies.
52% of SMB leaders say if their business doesn’t introduce new technology soon they will fail within 5 years. By empowering employees to use technology to make smarter decisions, SMBs can turn their next challenge into their newest opportunity.
